Job Description:
The Bombers organization supports the B-52 Heavy Bomber. This platform continues to be updated to keep it relevant and supportive of emerging military systems. Upgrades include state-of-the-art radar systems, hypersonic weapons systems, and cutting edge digital communication infrastructure.
Candidates selected for these positions will work in an agile, collaborative environment working with some of the latest software development tools to support development and integration tasks. Troubleshooting normally involves a high fidelity lab environment working with A/C hardware.
Position Responsibilities:
Design, develop and test software components and functions
Support development of software functional requirements
Support software architecture trades and revise existing architecture to meet new functions
Specify internal and external software interfaces
Conduct software test driven development
Conduct and support peer reviews on all software life cycle data
Contribute to the success of an Agile development team
Support sprint planning and meet sprint commitments
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).
Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Experience with embedded (real-time) software development.
Proficient in Ada. P4 8+ years of experience
Experience with Agile development practices
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Previous technical experience in an aerospace environment.
Proficiency in design and implementation of multi-threaded real-time applications.
Self-motivated problem solver, capable of taking initiative with minimal instruction.
Able to problem solve in a clear and concise manner.
Possesses strong communication skills.
Education / Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work
experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
