Cloud Java Developer 12098

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Java Developer to support application development and modernization efforts in a secure enterprise environment. This position will focus primarily on C++ application development, with additional development in Java and exposure to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. This is an onsite position in Fort worth, TX requiring an active secret clearance. This project is approximately 800 hours (~5 months) with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain mission-critical applications using C++ and Java.
• Perform hands-on application development, debugging, troubleshooting, and integration.
• Work with applications that run directly within RHEL-based environments.
• Develop software components that interact with the underlying Linux platform and system resources.
• Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, and other technical teams to design and implement application solutions.
• Analyze existing applications and codebases to identify opportunities for improvements, modernization, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot application issues and identify root causes across the application and operating system layers.
• Support integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of software applications.
• Work within a secure, enterprise environment while following established development and security practices.
• Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and software development best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance required.
• Strong professional experience with C++ application development.
• Experience developing applications using Java.
• Experience working in Linux/RHEL environments.
• Familiarity with RHEL 8 and/or RHEL 10.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work onsite in Fort Worth, Texas.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing applications that interact directly with the underlying Linux operating system.
• Experience with cloud or cloud-native application environments.
• Experience with application modernization or migration efforts.
• Experience working with system-level or platform-level software.
• Familiarity with RHEL administration, configuration, or troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting applications within DoD or other cleared environments.
