Standard Job Description
Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and its ISR & UAS line-of-business, seeks a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join the Signature Management & Survivability Team. Specifically, we seek to identify a candidate with expertise in the following:
- Aircraft stealth signature reduction and low observables (LO) phenomenology
- Radar cross section (RCS) susceptibility
- Electromagnetics (EM), computational electromagnetics (CEM)
- LO project/program management
The candidate will be working in a high-paced environment responsible for a team, as the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, of engineers responsible for low observable technology maturation, modeling and simulation, prototype build and test, and external customer communication and marketing. The candidate will lead the Signature Management team and participate in Government forums and internal Skunk Works program reviews as the LO signature subject matter expert (SME).
Typical responsibilities may include:
- Responsible for performing, analyzing, and communicating vehicle signature predictions using Unix-based codes and tools.
- Leading a team of signature intergration, LO Materials, Supportable LO, and EM Designers to ensure baseline program requirements are being met and developing solutions to new capabilities
- Engagement in the research, design, computational electromagnetic modeling, fabricating, and testing of advanced electromagnetic metamaterials.
- Responsible for planning, performing, post-processing, and communicating the results of laboratory, field, flight, and vehicle signature measurements.
- Writing and using scripts to batch analysis and post-processing.
The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills for final reports and technical briefings to large groups. An ability to explain complex technical concepts in a readily comprehensible manner is an advantage. The candidate should have experience in customer/client interaction and preparing successful technical proposals. This will include the ability to perceive customer needs, develop a compelling technical approach to meeting those needs, clearly and concisely describe a plan for implementing the technical approach, and provide reasonable cost/schedule estimates for the work required. The candidate will typically work without technical direction, but he/she may be called upon to provide technical direction for others. The candidate will participate in and ultimately lead multidisciplinary design teams to solve challenging aircraft survivability problems in the low observables, infrared signature reduction, and LO realm.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Optics
- Experience working with RADAR Cross Section (RCS) signature reduction
- U.S. Citizenship
