Standard Job Description
Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and its ISR & UAS line-of-business, seeks a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join the Signature Management & Survivability Team. Specifically, we seek to identify a candidate with expertise or willingness to learn one of the following disciplines:
- Aircraft stealth signature reduction and low observables (LO) phenomenology
- Radar cross section (RCS) susceptibility
- Electromagnetics (EM), computational electromagnetics (CEM)
- LO project/program management
The candidate will be working in a high-paced environment responsible for low observable technology maturation, modeling and simulation, prototype build and test, and external customer communication and marketing. The candidate will work independently and in small teams and participate in Government forums and internal Skunk Works program reviews as an emerging LO signature advisor.
Typical responsibilities may include:
- Responsible for performing, analyzing, and communicating vehicle signature predictions using Unix-based codes and tools.
- Responsible for planning and/or executing laboratory measurements of material coupons to determine physical, electrical, and/or environmental properties.
- Engagement in the research, design, computational electromagnetic modeling, fabricating, and testing of advanced electromagnetic metamaterials.
- Responsible for planning, performing, post-processing, and communicating the results of laboratory, field, flight, and vehicle signature measurements.
- Writing and using scripts to batch analysis and post-processing.
- Engagement in the algorithm development, test, and maintenance of signature prediction tools using python, C++, C#, Java, and Fortran.
- Responsible for dreaming and developing new novel approaches to solve difficult problems
The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills for final reports and technical briefings to large groups. An ability to explain complex technical concepts in a readily comprehensible manner is an advantage. The candidate will be expected to develop and execute R&D plans to meet needs defined by management or by the customer. The candidate will participate in multidisciplinary design teams to solve challenging aircraft survivability problems.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or other related Engineering Discipline
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills
- Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance or TS//SCI
- Recognized experience in low observables (LO), survivability, or susceptibility
- Experience with radar cross section reduction (RCSR) or radio-frequency (RF) antenna design/integration
- Experience with LO integration / multi-discipline air vehicle systems design
- Programming with C/C++, Java, Fortran, Matlab, Python
- CAD software literacy for model cleanup and meshing
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00
