About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Front-End Software Developer / Data Visualization Engineer to support a mission-critical Department of Defense program focused on modernizing network operations and data visualization capabilities. This role will be part of an Agile development team responsible for designing and developing intuitive, data-driven dashboards that provide operational users with a real-time, single-pane-of-glass view of enterprise network performance and health. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge visualization solutions using the Elastic Stack while directly supporting national defense missions.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using Kibana and the Elastic Stack.
Create intuitive UX/UI solutions that help users quickly understand complex operational and network data.
Gather, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Build and maintain data transformation pipelines and reporting solutions.
Develop UI mockups, wireframes, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, stakeholders, and operational end users to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
Translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Support modern software development practices including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
Maintain reusable analytics assets and self-service reporting capabilities.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain prior to start.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
2+ years of software development experience.
1+ years of experience designing and developing dashboards using the Elastic Stack, including:
Elasticsearch
Logstash
Kibana
Beats
2+ years of UX/UI architecture, design, and development experience.
Experience with:
Python
Java
SQL
HTML
JavaScript
Experience with Git, Bitbucket, or similar version control platforms.
Experience working in Linux/UNIX environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work onsite at Scott AFB, IL.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
Experience with ELK Stack data analytics and visualization.
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Grafana, or similar visualization platforms.
Experience in DoD, DISA, or other government environments.
Knowledge of networking, routers, switches, and network infrastructure.
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Agile development methodologies.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerized deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret)
