TQI Solutions is actively seeking a Principal Expert Consultant to support our customer. In this senior role, you will provide high-level advisory support, guide enterprise initiatives, lead critical analysis efforts, and collaborate with senior Navy leadership to advance mission readiness and operational effectiveness.

The estimated salary range for this role is $130,000-$142,000 per year. Final compensation is dependent upon the candidate's skills, qualifications, contract-specific guidelines, and geographic location. TQI is committed to pay equity and compliance with the Virginia Pay Transparency Act; we do not request or consider prior salary history when making employment offers.

Responsibilities:

• Quickly process unit readiness reports, situation reports, and Casualty Reports (CASREP) in order to brief senior Navy leadership on a daily basis.
• Display knowledge of afloat unit operations, including the integration and performance of systems within units, and the impact of equipment degradation on mission accomplishment.
• Analyze documented deficiencies and determine mission limitations.
• Display knowledge of afloat unit organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance.
• Develop improved Fleet readiness assessment methodologies, and assist in the development of maintenance policy.
• Display technical skills associated with outcome-based Navy maintenance processes, as well as soft skills associated with successful group collaboration and staff work
• Lead business process analysis and retooling efforts related to Naval maintenance and business policies.
• Work with motivated team members to prepare flag level briefs, charters, maintenance strategies, communication plans and impact assessments.
• Participate and provide critical thought in strategy sessions, strategic assessments process, and design reviews to validate new maintenance enterprise approaches and associated work products, services, and execution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant senior-level experience in Navy maintenance, readiness, logistics, operations, IT systems, or related enterprise support.
• Demonstrated ability to interface with senior Navy leaders and communicate complex concepts clearly and confidently.
• General understanding of operational equipment across afloat units with specific knowledge of surface ship equipment and systems.
• Experience in an afloat leadership position, ship maintenance project team management (planning and execution), or ISIC/TYCOM Staff position is a plus
• Proven experience leading major projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering strategic recommendations in a DoD environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to prepare professional briefs, reports, and presentations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce executive-level documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to assess risk, manage complex issues, and influence decision-making.
• Experience working with Navy maintenance processes, readiness assessments, lifecycle management, or enterprise planning is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree with at least seven (7) years of recent specialized experience.
• Experience in senior staff roles, program oversight, requirements development, or enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Experience with Navy Type Commanders, NAVSEA, Warfare Centers, or shipyard operations.
• Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma) are beneficial.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Candidates must be eligible for a background investigation.
