We offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K with company matching, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, three weeks paid time off, and more.

Koniag IT Systems (KITS) is seeking a strategic Automation / Tooling / Analytics Lead with a minimum of 8 years of IT experience, including 3+ years leading automation, ITSM tooling, or analytics functions, to own the strategy and delivery of automation, service management tooling, and reporting/analytics capabilities for a federal civilian customer's enterprise IT program. The ideal candidate has driven adoption of infrastructure-as-code and event-driven automation, owns a modern ITSM platform as a strategic asset, and can translate operational data into executive-ready insights.

The Automation / Tooling / Analytics Lead will be responsible for owning the strategic roadmap for automation, ITSM tooling, and reporting/analytics capabilities, leading a team of automation engineers, ITSM platform administrators, and reporting/analytics specialists, and serving as the platform owner for the ITSM tool of record.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Own the strategic roadmap for automation, ITSM tooling, and reporting/analytics capabilities supporting enterprise infrastructure operations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, ITSM platform administrators, and reporting/analytics specialists.
  • Drive adoption of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) and event-driven, auto-remediation automation to reduce manual toil across server, cloud, storage, database, and monitoring functions.
  • Serve as the platform owner for the ITSM tool of record (e.g., ServiceNow), governing workflow design, CMDB integrity, and emerging AI/agentic automation capabilities within established security and change management guardrails.
  • Define and oversee delivery of executive and operational dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ServiceNow Performance Analytics) that surface infrastructure health, SLA/OLA performance, and modernization progress to program and government leadership.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure & Platform Operations Lead and functional leads (server/cloud, storage/backup, database, monitoring/SRE) to identify automation and reporting opportunities across the operations lifecycle.
  • Establish governance for automation and analytics tooling, including access control, change control, and audit trail requirements aligned to NIST SP 800-53 and FedRAMP continuous monitoring (ConMon).
  • Track and report on FinOps metrics (cloud cost, utilization, and rightsizing opportunities) as part of the broader analytics portfolio.
  • Support proposal development, capability roadmaps, and staffing plans for the automation and analytics function.

Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of IT experience, including 3+ years leading automation, ITSM tooling, or data/reporting teams
  • Demonstrated experience implementing infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, or similar) at enterprise scale
  • Hands-on or administrative-level experience with a major ITSM platform (ServiceNow strongly preferred), including workflow, CMDB, and reporting configuration
  • Experience delivering business intelligence/reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tools against operational or service management data

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of ITIL 4 practices and federal IT change/configuration management processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience briefing program and government leadership

Security Requirement:
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust

Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience working in a federal government IT environment
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and/or ITIL 4 Foundation certification
  • Experience governing AI-assisted or agentic automation capabilities within an ITSM platform
  • Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost management/reporting
  • Experience supporting a federal civilian financial or capital-access/loan-servicing IT program
