LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Duties

• Serve as a focal point within the agency for disseminating, coordinating, and tracking USTRANSCOM Executive Agent (EA) inquiries, requests for EA support/ analysis, EA issue resolution, and requirements throughout the Joint force.
• Analyze the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs regarding distribution and fuel systems using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
• Provide technical assistance to tactical and installation level operations to support petroleum readiness pertaining to equipment and facilities.
• Perform on-site technical assistance visits to provide wartime and contingency deployment guidance, including contingency Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) operations.
• Develop and review doctrinal changes in petroleum management.
• Provide guidance on automated processes, functional data sources, and petroleum equipment through written and/or oral communications.
• Compute sustainment requirements for worldwide contingency planning to manage joint worldwide fuel sustainment requirements.
• Identify hardware/software requirements to monitor progress toward meeting the logistics plan through consultations with technical specialists at the program management office regarding site capabilities and required funding.

• This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
• All USSOUTHCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• Occasional travel (less than 10% of the time) may be required.
• The incumbent may be required to work non-standard duty hours (e.g., shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime-both scheduled and unscheduled.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Provide technical assistance to tactical and installation level operations to support petroleum readiness pertaining to equipment and facilities; 2). Compute sustainment requirements for worldwide contingency planning to manage joint worldwide fuel sustainment requirements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
