Job Description

Duties

  • You will be responsible for the Integrated Maintenance Concept Program (IMC/P) functions associated with managing aircraft and weapon systems, involving many technical/ program decisions and major operating forces/components.
  • You will provide IMC/P expertise, guidance and consultation to the IMC/P Lead, as well as NAVAIR PMA and IPT Leads on matters relating to the IMC/P of assigned weapon systems.
  • You will review program objectives to identify and correct deficiencies in establishing an integrated logistics support program.
  • You will verify that the systems/support systems developed meet and/or enable all IMC/P requirements defined in the system specification and Statement of Work.
  • You will interpret and understand the planning, implementation, and execution of modification programs and maintenance programs.
  • You will perform certain logistics efforts independently, and will work on sophisticated or complicated tasks as an assistant to logisticians of higher grade and greater experience.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes: 1) Planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance planning initiatives that enhance fleet readiness and lifecycle sustainment; 2) Employing project management skills to initiate, plan and track performance of projects, including developing specifications, managing schedules, and maintaining associated maintenance planning documentation; 3) Analyzing aircraft maintenance, engineering and reliability data using enterprise information systems to identify trends, develop maintenance strategies and improve aircraft availability and sustainment; 4) Collaborating with key stakeholders to coordinate technical reviews, resolve maintenance planning issues, and support lifecycle management decisions; 5) Communicating project status, technical recommendations, and program risks by briefing leadership; and 6) Supporting engineering and logistics decision making throughout the lifecycle of assigned program initiatives.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
