Koniag Advisory Business Solutions (KABS) is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused General Clerk II to support the Indian Health Service (IHS), Office of Environmental Health & Engineering (OEHE) Field Office in Miami, Oklahoma.
This position plays an important role in supporting programs that improve environmental health and sanitation infrastructure for Tribal communities. As a member of the OEHE team, you will provide administrative, clerical, customer service, and program support that helps engineers, technicians, and project staff successfully manage sanitation and construction projects benefiting American Indian families.

As the General Clerk II, you will provide a wide variety of administrative and office support services, including:
Customer Service:
- Welcome visitors and answer incoming telephone calls professionally and courteously.
- Provide general information to customers and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
- Assist customers with completing applications and explain required documentation for program participation.
Administrative Support:
- Prepare letters, reports, memoranda, forms, and other correspondence using Microsoft Office applications.
- Type and format documents from handwritten notes, electronic files, or other source materials.
- Proofread documents for grammar, spelling, formatting, and accuracy.
- Prepare final documents for distribution.
Records and File Management:
- Maintain electronic and paper project files.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- File, copy, scan, archive, and organize records in accordance with office procedures.
- Prepare and update project folders and participant files.
Program Database Support:
- Enter, update, and maintain information in program databases, including:
- STARS (Sanitation Tracking and Reporting System)
- Service Request (SR)
- Project Data System (PDS)
- Home Inventory Tracking System (HITS)
- Track homeowner applications and project milestones.
- Update project costs, journal entries, housing information, and other program data.
- Help ensure program information remains complete, accurate, and current.
Financial and Office Support:
- Prepare purchase card request forms.
- Assist with project financial recordkeeping and reconciliation of the field office commitment register.
- Help maintain office supply inventory and coordinate supply orders.
- Assist with preparation of homeowner manuals and environmental compliance documentation.
- Provide administrative support to Engineering Technicians and other program staff.
- Perform light housekeeping duties and other administrative assignments as requested.
Schedule:
- Part-Time Position
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Federal holidays observed
- Work is performed on-site at the Indian Health Service, Office of Environmental Health & Engineering Field Office in Miami, Oklahoma.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of administrative, clerical, customer service, or office support experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to accurately enter and maintain electronic records
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail
- Professional customer service skills and a positive attitude
Preferred:
- Experience working in a government, healthcare, engineering, construction, or public service environment
- Experience maintaining electronic databases
- Familiarity with records management and document control
- Experience with purchasing, bookkeeping, or financial tracking
- Experience supporting engineering, facilities, environmental health, or construction programs
