Job Description

Duties

  • Directly assists the command team in the management of all administrative support program functions.
  • Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.
  • Serves as the organizational point of contact on personnel matters. Stays abreast of current personnel issues and provides explanations of personnel-related requirements, regulations, and procedures to supervisors and managers. Monitors military personnel action requests, tracks.
  • Assists in planning, administering, and monitoring manpower resource requirements.
  • Develops, establishes, updates, and maintains office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office.

Qualifications

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.
  • Must be able to work in-person and adhere to a consistent and set schedule. However this position may occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
  • Desired candidate has the ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience or educational substitution requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband (NK-I or GS-04) in Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: Planning and organizing management programs and functions of an organization such as cybersecurity liaison (CL), personnel assignments, decorations, awards, promotions, special programs, security or unit recognition programs. Assisting with military or civilian personnel issues and manpower resource requirements. Using various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents.

EDUCATION:
Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application package

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
A combination of specialized experience and education obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university listed above, that when combined equals 100% of the qualification's requirement.NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application package

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
  • Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization.
  • Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spread sheets, data bases, and graphs.
  • Knowledge of structure, programs and work methods of organization for personnel /manning issues.
  • Skills in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and possess the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization.

  • PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

    VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
