PRINCIPAL PROGRAM MANAGER
LOCATION: Hanscom AFB, MA
SALARY RANGE: $150,000 -$166,000 annually
*depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications
JOB STATUS: Full-time;salaried
CLEARANCE: Secret clearance required to have at time of hire
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Program Manager providing support to the USAF Weather Systems branch, which is within the PEO Electronic Systems Directorate (AFLCMC/ES) and located at Hanscom AFB, MA .
For this position, the Weather Branch needs a top-notch Program Manager who can run a program, take initiative, knows how USAF works and not just be a task worker
Must be a US citizen
Must have an active Secret clearance

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 20 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 10 of which must be in the DoD
- OR, 30+ years of directly related experience, 12 of which must be in the DoD
Technical Skills
- Experience on DoD or Air Force acquisition programs
- Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75, as well as knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force
- Possess knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of acquisition programs
Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment meeting end users' requirement
- Must be detail-oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties includ e, but not limited to:
- Knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02, AFI 63-101/20-101
- Knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs
- Knowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing what programs are within schedule and cost baselines, be able to recommend viable solutions to problems, and the pursuit of alternative courses of action
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.)
- Plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, and deployment of weapons systems and associated equipment as well as formulate plans and recommend effective strategies in meeting cost, schedule and performance objectives
- Support and develop acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (i.e., DAES, MAR, etc.)
- Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews, and IMP/IMS reviews
- Support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior management
- Correlate EVM Cost Performance Report analysis with the monthly IMS CDRLs for programs
- Provide expert Program Management inputs to Request for Proposal (RFPs) including systems specs, Electronic Warfare Systems (SRDs), Statement of Work (SOWs), and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs), and other RFP products
- Provide services critical to Life Cycle Logistics and operational supportability
- Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate acquisition project assignments and make recommendations to Government Program Manager regarding problems with unique or controversial items that may have a major effect on the overall performance and execution of acquisition & sustainment projects
- Compare program direction and program plans for consistency
- Outline policy disconnects, policy interpretation, and management of all acquisition effort.
