Overview
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and lifecycle management of advanced space vehicle systems. This role will provide technical oversight across spacecraft design and development efforts, guide subsystem integration activities, support readiness and design reviews, and collaborate closely with government stakeholders and contractor teams.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in spacecraft systems engineering, integration, and testing, along with a strong understanding of systems engineering processes within the national security space domain. This position supports mission-critical space capabilities and requires onsite engagement in a classified environment.
Responsibilities
Support the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced space vehicle systems.
Provide technical oversight throughout spacecraft design, development, and deployment activities.
Lead and support subsystem integration efforts to ensure mission and performance requirements are achieved.
Participate in system readiness reviews and major engineering design reviews, including SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, and related milestones.
Coordinate with government customers, engineering teams, and program leadership to ensure successful mission execution.
Support system lifecycle management activities from concept development through deployment and operations.
Assist with requirements development, traceability, verification, and validation activities.
Contribute to risk management, technical planning, and program execution efforts.
Support environmental and performance testing efforts for spacecraft systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
6+ years of space vehicle systems engineering experience.
6+ years supporting the development, integration, and testing of spacecraft subsystems.
3+ years supporting major space program reviews, including SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, and other technical review boards.
Hands-on experience with systems engineering methodologies and lifecycle processes.
Experience using Jira and/or Confluence.
Strong communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative technical environment.
Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance, as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with spacecraft-level environmental and performance testing, including:
Thermal Vacuum (TVAC)
Acoustic Testing
EMI/EMC Testing
Requirements verification and validation experience.
Program management experience.
Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and systems engineering standards.
Experience supporting space, ground, and/or user segments.
Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
PMP, ESEP, CSEP, or OCSMP certification.
