Job Description
Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Location: Dallas, TX 75216
Duration: 12 Months assignment with possible extension.
Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
Pay Rate: $33.88/Hour + $5.09 Health & Welfare Benefits
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of electrical systems throughout the hospital, including motors, HVAC components, alarms, medical and laboratory equipment, lighting, and major utility infrastructure such as switchgear, transformers, and emergency power systems.
• Duties include troubleshooting electrical issues using diagnostic instruments, installing and modifying circuits and conduits, performing preventive maintenance on motors and control equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and the National Electrical Code.
• The employee works with minimal supervision, may oversee helpers, and must understand the hazards of working with voltages up to 4160 volts AC.
• The role requires frequent physical exertion, heavy lifting, and work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in cramped areas or at heights, with risks such as electrical shock and burns.
• The contractor will retain control over supervision and/or control over contractor personnel (which includes contractor service providers, contractor representatives, and subcontractors employed with and/or being utilized by the prime contractor) during all active performance periods of the contract.
Qualifications:
• Active Texas State Journeyman Electrician License.
• Current OSHA Certification.
• Experience maintaining and repairing electrical systems, including motors, HVAC components, alarms, medical and laboratory equipment, lighting, switchgear, transformers, and emergency power systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic instruments.
• Experience installing and modifying electrical circuits and conduits.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable electrical safety standards.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and safely perform duties involving voltages up to 4160 volts AC.
• Ability to perform work requiring frequent physical exertion, heavy lifting, and work in indoor and outdoor environments, including confined spaces and elevated locations
Work Hours and Schedule: All work, execution of services, and completion of deliverables must be accomplished during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded.
