Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.
Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control is seeking a Systems Engineer for our Aviation mission area which is part of the SOF GLSS (Global Logistic Support Service) Program based in Lexington, KY. This program, critical to the success of US service men and women deployed throughout the world has a Mission to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible mission systems and equipment.
The role will be part of the Aviation Project Execution Engineering team and partner with the platform Chief Engineers with the technical execution on all Air Force and Army aircraft and Unmanned Aircraft Systems task orders in the modification of existing equipment, integrating modified components into various platforms, sustainment of existing systems, and developing new devices/software based on customer specifications.
The position will require a highly motivated individual with demonstrated exemplary communication and technical skills to lead a diverse team of engineers and/or suppliers. The candidate should possess extensive knowledge of systems engineering principles/processes/lifecycle and the ability to adapt the same rigor for rapid development of design required by SOF GLSS.
The role is expected to lead task orders in the performance of the following duties for the SOF GLSS contract:
- Responsible for systems engineering requirements and interface development, flow down of requirements, coordination and planning of tests, troubleshooting system issues, and execution of tests.
- Analyze customer requirements to determine total scope, basis of estimate, plan Systems Engineering tasks within an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), plan resource requirements, and formulate the overall systems engineering plan.
- Prioritize and ensure tasks are on schedule
- Provide oversight of subcontractors to ensure technical review completion/closeout actions and on-time work product deliveries.
