Job Description
DCS is seeking a General/Interdisciplinary Engineer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Electronic Systems PEO (AFLCMC/ES) within the Force Protection Division (ESS). In this role, you will manage and execute the modernization, design, development, testing, fielding, and sustainment of key hardware and software systems across the ESS portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities
Design & Architecture
▪ Execute technical activities across all acquisition phases, from material solution analysis through operation and support.
▪ Prepare key systems engineering documentation, including Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and Systems Engineering Plans (SEP).
▪ Plan and lead technical reviews and assessments, including Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA).
▪ Conduct architectural analyses and state-of-the-art assessments using traditional methods or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
▪ Maintain system baselines, architecture, and interoperability requirements.
▪ Translate DoD user requirements into detailed system design, testing, and evaluation specs.
▪ Evaluate simulator designs, technical documentation, and system training equipment requirements.
Acquisition Support
▪ Implement DoD acquisition and sustainment systems engineering processes across product lifecycles.
▪ Draft and review program specifications for items, processes, and materials.
▪ Leverage digital engineering, MBSE, and simulation tools to optimize performance and validate test results.
▪ Prepare and integrate milestone review artifacts and compliance reports per DoD/USAF policies.
▪ Review contractor drawings and Technical Data Packages for accuracy, completeness, and ASME compliance.
Technical Management & Execution
▪ Manage requirements definition, integration, verification, validation, risk management, and configuration management.
▪ Share best practices, lessons learned, and technical insights across customer and contractor teams.
▪ Conduct market research, root cause analyses, and trade studies regarding cost, schedule, and system performance.
▪ Develop Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), support test readiness reviews, and assist in executing developmental and operational testing.
▪ Support integrated logistics, maintenance data collection, technical order management, and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Clearance & Citizenship
▪ U.S. Citizenship required.
▪ Active Secret security clearance (must be maintainable).
Education & Experience
▪ Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university plus 5 years of experience; OR 10 years of directly related engineering experience (with at least 3 years supporting DoD programs).
Technical Skills
▪ Background supporting technical and engineering efforts within DoD acquisition environments.
▪ Hands-on experience with USAF command and control reporting systems, tactical radars, shelters/radomes, radios, EW systems, or threat emitters.
▪ Network engineering experience in DoD environments (preferably access control systems, intrusion detection systems, or command and control).

▪ Proven ability to analyze complex multi-disciplinary technical issues and offer expert recommendations to leadership.
▪ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with government and contractor partners.
