The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the preparation, analysis, and presentation of comprehensive financial reports that provide critical insights into the organization's financial health. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of financial data, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and delivering actionable intelligence to leadership to support strategic decision-making and long-term fiscal sustainability.

Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Role Summary

This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of financial data, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and delivering actionable intelligence to leadership to support strategic decision-making and long-term fiscal sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow reports.
- Spend Plan Management: Develop and maintain detailed spend plans to track expenditures against allocated funding; monitor burn rates to ensure alignment with project milestones and prevent overruns.
- Out-Year Budgeting: Lead the planning and projection of out-year budgets, utilizing historical data and strategic forecasts to estimate future funding requirements and resource needs.
- Variance Analysis: Perform detailed variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast) to identify trends, anomalies, and drivers of financial performance.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all reporting adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal organizational governance policies.
- Process Improvement: Streamline reporting workflows by automating manual spreadsheets and enhancing the efficiency of data collection.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with department heads and operational leads to provide financial commentary and support budgetary planning.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and ensuring data integrity.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or relevant field
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or external auditing.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, complex formulas) and familiarity with customer's internal financial management tools.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to synthesize large datasets into concise, executive-level summaries.

- Communication: Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Time Management: Proven ability to meet strict monthly and quarterly closing deadlines.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Prior experience working within a highly regulated industry (e.g., Defense, Aerospace, or Government Contracting).
