Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Salesforce DevOps Architect to design and lead enterprise CI/CD and DevSecOps capabilities using Copado. This role owns release architecture, pipeline automation, quality and security gates, and delivery governance across multiple Salesforce teams and environments. The architect will also lead Release/DevOps Administrators and coordinate complex release timelines with engineering, QA, security, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps Architecture & CI/CD

  • Architect and implement enterprise Salesforce CI/CD pipelines in Copado across development, test, staging, and production environments.

  • Define Git branching, merging, pull request, promotion, rollback, and back-promotion strategies.

  • Integrate Copado with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps and automate validations, approvals, merge controls, and deployment readiness checks.

  • Establish metadata version-control, conflict-resolution, environment-synchronization, and traceability standards.

Quality Engineering & DevSecOps

  • Embed automated unit, regression, code coverage, and static analysis quality gates throughout the pipeline.

  • Integrate Snyk, Checkmarx, or comparable security scanners with policy-based vulnerability thresholds.

  • Partner with QA to automate validation and shift quality, security, and metadata checks earlier in delivery.

  • Implement deployment dashboards, metrics, alerts, and audit controls.

 Release Management & Governance

  • Own release calendars, deployment windows, code freezes, cutover and rollback plans, and production readiness reviews.

  • Manage dependencies and sequencing across large development teams, shared components, packages, integrations, and concurrent initiatives.

  • Define environment, access, approval, audit, and change-management governance.

  • Lead retrospectives and root-cause reviews; communicate release status, risks, decisions, and timeline impacts.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and prioritize a team of Release/DevOps Administrators; establish runbooks and support standards.

  • Partner with architects and engineering leads to ensure solutions are deployable, secure, and supportable.

  • Troubleshoot complex deployment failures and guide teams on source-control and release best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Enterprise Salesforce DevOps architecture and CI/CD experience, with deep hands-on Copado expertise.

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce metadata, dependencies, permissions, Apex testing, packaging, and multi-environment delivery.

  • Proficiency with Git workflows, pull request automation, Salesforce CLI/SFDX, and scripting.

  • Experience implementing automated testing, code analysis, quality gates, and security scanning with Snyk, Checkmarx, or related tools.

  • Proven success managing production releases, timelines, and cross-team dependencies at enterprise scale.

  • Experience leading release engineering or DevOps personnel, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Salesforce Admin and Copado Certifications

Public Trust Clearance: This role will require the hired candidate to go through public trust clearance. A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is required to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship.
