AI Product Lifecycle and Support Specialist
Bethesda, MD / Hybrid
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an NIH Public Trust suitability determination
Blu Omega is seeking an AI Product Lifecycle and Support Specialist to support a federal program focused on biomedical research. This role operates within a hybrid environment and is responsible for advising stakeholders on AI product evaluation, adoption, support, and lifecycle management across the NIH scientific community. The position requires experience supporting AI product lifecycle activities within a mission-driven environment.

Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid - 2 days/week onsite at NIH CIT; 3 days remote; candidate should be local to the Bethesda/DC area)

Responsibilities
- Liaise with NIH stakeholders and communicate AI product offerings to the scientific community
- Manage AI product lifecycle activities, including stakeholder needs analysis, product analysis, license management, and user adoption
- Develop technical support resources and coordinate product support activities
- Monitor, report, and support usage activities through operations and maintenance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience
- Project management experience managing multiple projects with many moving parts
- Proven experience with AI products including Claude, Gemini, OpenAI, and Codex
- Broad awareness of multiple AI tools and systems (productivity tools, analytics, AI platforms)
- Experience with open source and private LLMs
- Experience using AI for scientific applications (e.g., genomics or image analytics using AI tools)
- Experience with bioinformatics, computational biology, or other scientific AI use cases
- Experience developing best practices and standards for AI development and product support
- Comfortable interacting with and presenting to senior leaders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an NIH Public Trust suitability determination
- Proactive leader with ability to take on and shape potentially ambiguous tasks
- Strong understanding of licensing and cost structures for AI products
- Experience working cooperatively in a highly matrixed environment with multiple contracting companies
- Experience in health and life sciences consulting supporting the U.S. Government
Compensation
Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00
