Performs activities involving the producibility and quality of the product, and the processes that directly pertain, encompassing primarily one or more of the following engineering disciplines: failure analysis, industrial, manufacturing, manufacturing equipment, process, product, quality assurance, reliability, supplier quality, Lean Six Sigma, test, and tool.
As the Production Operations Affordability Program Team Member, you will be responsible for leading and identifying impactful ways to move the needle of our products in the most cost-effective way. You will play a key role in driving the execution of affordability initiatives across multiple make sites and collaborating with other functions within the Air Dominance Line of Business.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Program Affordability Lead, you will be responsible for:
Basic Qualifications
• Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering or STEM discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering), or equivalent experience considered.
• Possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organization capabilities
• Proven ability to see open action items through to completion
• Ability to multi-task and the ability to seek assistance or information as necessary
• Strong interpersonal skills, including experience working in a team environment
Desired Skills
• Professional experience in manufacturing environments (machining, assembly, test, special processes) working cross functionally with operations, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and industrial engineering.
• Being a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision is required.
• Ability to manage priorities, make sound decisions, and be flexible with schedule to support ever changing production needs.
• Successful experience in Project Management and/or Change Management.
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.
• Experience with missile manufacturing and assembly, fabrication, test processes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Security Clearance : This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Work Schedule : 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
National Pay Statement : Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $77,700 - $136,965. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

- Lead affordability business rhythms with all major make sites and collaborate with production teams to solution assembly/manufacturing/test process cost drivers or schedule bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Affordability team (Program Management, Engineering and Technology, Finance, Global Supply Chain, Production Operations, and Quality) to ensure successful completion of major program affordability milestones.
- Proactively identify issues, concerns, or challenges, and facilitate trade-off decisions to remove obstacles for make sites.
- Manage affordability project tracker to drive execution and timely completion of cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop and manage project schedules, support feasibility assessments, perform business case reviews, make-buy evaluations, and risk management.
- Travel to make sites as needed to lead continuous improvement events (Lean Six Sigma, SIAs, Design for Manufacturing).
