The Work
We are seeking a **Software Engineer** to drive complex software solutions for Rotary and Mission Systems business area in Mount Laurel NJ. Working with only general direction, you will independently define solution approaches, lead design reviews, and ensure software deliverables meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements. You will develop software using C++ and Java in a dynamic and collaborative Agile environment, supporting the full lifecycle of complex state-of-the-art systems that are deployed across the globe. As the Software Engineer, you will:
• Design, develop and integrate software components
• Lead peer reviews and collaborate with system engineers to validate solutions against requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers, cross functional teams, and senior technical leadership to resolve difficult technical issues.
• Develop software using C++ and Java in a collaborative environment
• Have strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high quality software on time and within budget.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead small development teams.
Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years relevant professional engineering experience
• Proven track record designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining complex software systems.
• Experience using C/C++, Java, and/or Python
• Experience with Linux/Unix Operating Environment
• Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level - U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Skills
• Deep experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, static analysis, and configuration management (GitLab, Jenkins, Make/CMake).
• Strong background in Agile Scrum, serving as Scrum Master or Product Owner (certification preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that cause successful work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Experience in Model Based Engineering and related tools.
