Recruiting Screening Coordinator
Role Summary
The Recruiting Screening Coordinator supports the recruiting team by serving as an initial point of contact for applicants and helping identify qualified candidates for open positions. This role focuses heavily on reviewing applications, conducting initial candidate screenings, confirming basic qualifications, documenting screening results, and coordinating next steps with recruiters and hiring managers.
The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable speaking with candidates, able to evaluate qualifications against job requirements, and skilled at managing a high volume of applicants while providing a positive candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Review resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for open positions.
- Conduct initial phone and/or virtual screening interviews with prospective candidates.
- Evaluate candidate experience, education, certifications, licensure, availability, location, salary expectations, and other position-specific requirements.
- Ask standardized screening questions and accurately document candidate responses.
- Assess candidate qualifications against job descriptions and established hiring criteria.
- Identify qualified candidates and advance them to recruiters or hiring managers for further consideration.
- Communicate professionally with candidates regarding opportunities, screening requirements, and next steps in the hiring process.
- Maintain accurate candidate profiles, screening notes, statuses, and disposition information within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Conduct follow-up outreach with candidates to obtain missing information or clarify qualifications.
- Assist with high-volume candidate screening for multiple open requisitions and hiring initiatives.
- Verify required credentials, certifications, licenses, work authorization, geographic availability, and other minimum qualifications when applicable.
- Coordinate recruiter or hiring manager interviews for candidates who successfully complete the initial screening process.
- Support candidate pipeline management by monitoring applications and ensuring qualified candidates are reviewed and contacted promptly.
- Help maintain consistent screening practices across positions by following established qualification criteria and recruiting procedures.
- Identify potential candidate concerns or qualification gaps and escalate them to the appropriate recruiter.
- Provide candidates with a professional, responsive, and welcoming experience throughout the initial stages of the recruiting process.
- Assist the Recruiting team with additional sourcing, scheduling, tracking, and administrative activities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, customer service, administrative support, or a related field preferred.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with confidence conducting candidate phone screenings.
- Ability to review resumes and compare candidate qualifications against position requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple candidates, requisitions, and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working within an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and maintaining detailed candidate records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and virtual communication platforms.
- Ability to handle candidate and employment information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Previous experience conducting candidate screenings or recruiting interviews.
- Experience supporting high-volume recruiting or staffing operations.
- Experience recruiting for government contracting, healthcare, behavioral health, professional services, or other credential-driven positions.
- Familiarity with reviewing professional licenses, certifications, education, and other position-specific qualifications.
- Experience with ClearCompany or a similar Applicant Tracking System.
