Senior Software Engineer

Contingent Upon Contract Funding

Purpose:

• 
  Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking an accomplished, mission‑focused Principal/Senior Software Engineer to join our advanced technology development team. This role is ideal for a deeply technical innovator with extensive experience delivering enterprise‑grade software, advanced search and discovery solutions, and full‑stack capabilities across high‑security DoD and Intelligence Community environments.
  

Job Description:

• The Senior Software Engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of mission‑critical software solutions supporting Valkyrie’s defense and intelligence customers.
• This role is responsible for engineering high‑fidelity data integration pipelines, advanced search and analytics capabilities, and secure cloud‑based services across complex and distributed environments.
• Responsibilities include full‑stack development; architectural design of ElasticSearch‑powered applications; implementation of large‑scale ingestion, transformation, and discovery pipelines; and creation of advanced NLP, entity‑resolution, and semantic‑search enhancements.
• The role supports multi‑program engagements across DoD and IC partners—including mission integration layers, predictive modeling microservices, access‑management systems, and microservice architectures deployed to AWS and containerized environments. The engineer will contribute to secure system design, PKI/TLS implementation, CI/CD pipelines, API development, and the delivery of production‑grade capabilities across multiple classified customer organizations. 

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and at least 10 years of related experience.
• Must have at least 10 years' of experience in progressive software engineering within federal mission environments, with deep expertise in full‑stack development, data engineering, and enterprise search technologies. Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency across modern programming languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Golang, C#, Java/J2EE, C/C++); extensive experience with ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, and large‑scale ingest pipelines; and leadership in designing custom search algorithms, discovery frameworks, and secure distributed systems.
• Must possess hands‑on experience with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, REST/SOAP APIs, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and modern DevSecOps tools including Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, SonarQube, and Fortify. 

Desired Qualifications:

• Preferred experience includes senior‑level engineering roles supporting various federal mission partners; experience developing advanced analytics frameworks such as Bayesian Network Models; background implementing Keycloak authorization systems; and demonstrated capability creating secure multi‑tenant architectures, PKI/TLS certificate generation workflows, and elastic data ingestion pipelines. Additional preference for candidates with experience leading software modernization, building complex UI/UX interfaces, and engineering custom data mining, ETL, and visualization solutions. Experience supporting test & evaluation, security scanning, automation, and enterprise-level deployment processes is strongly valued. 

Security Requirements:

• Must have an Active Secret Clearance the ability to maintain it.
• Preferred TS/SCI with CI polygraph.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional travel -less than 10%-Minimal to moderate travel depending on program assignment. Candidates must possess compliant identification credentials for access to federal and military facilities.
• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
