Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow On-Premise Infrastructure Engineer. The ServiceNow On-Premise Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the architecture, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the ServiceNow platform hosted within a local data center or secure private cloud. Unlike traditional SaaS administrators, this role focuses heavily on managing the underlying virtual environment, operating systems, databases, and network topologies that keep the ServiceNow environment secure and highly available.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and provision ServiceNow application servers and database servers within an on-premise or secure air-gapped environment.
  • Install, configure, and provision ServiceNow mid-servers within an on-premise or secure air-gapped environment.
  • Manage and maintain the underlying Operating Systems hosting the ServiceNow application stack.
  • Administer relational databases including clustering, replication, backups, performance tuning, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Plan and execute ServiceNow family version upgrades, patching, and hotfixes directly on the self-hosted servers, ensuring zero data loss and minimal downtime.
  • Configure load balancers (e.g., F5, HAProxy), reverse proxies, and firewalls. Ensure system compliance with strict security frameworks (e.g., STIGs, RMF, PKI/CAC integrations).
  • Monitor node and database performance, troubleshoot latency bottlenecks, and scale server resources (CPU, RAM, Storage) to meet mission demands.
  • Assist designated system owners with maintaining operating status and documentation.
  • Coordinate with team working on AI Initiatives to support predictive operations, automated incident/case response, and intelligent service management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and relevant experience
  • 5+ years of IT Infrastructure experience, with at least 2+ years explicitly managing ServiceNow in a self-hosted/on-premises architecture.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI/CI poly
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT modernization initiatives within federal or defense environments
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570 compliance), Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
  • ServiceNow Specialties: Familiarity with ITOM (IT Operations Management) Discovery and MID Server configuration within restricted networks.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise IT environments


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced proficiency in system administration, scripting, and server virtualization in an AWS cloud environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with MariaDB/MySQL database administration, including High Availability (HA) and replication configurations.
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS certificate management, hardware load balancing, and advanced firewall rules.
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
