Engineering Technician

Electro-Mechanical Systems

Bloomington, MI

Pay Estimated: $32.00/Hour

U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law

We are hiring an Engineering Technician to support defense engineering, electro-mechanical systems, prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, fabrication, assembly, and equipment maintenance . This role requires an active DoD Secret security clearance and hands-on experience with electronic and electro-mechanical devices, test equipment, calibration, laboratory testing, and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:
  • Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain electronic and electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
  • Support the design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and diagnose equipment, components, devices, and systems.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks on applicable equipment and systems.
  • Construct, modify, debug, test, and adjust tools and equipment using engineering drawings, parts, and technical instructions.
  • Fabricate basic hardware, tooling, and fixtures required to support specialized engineering and laboratory tasks.
  • Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions as required.
  • Conduct and document experiments under the guidance of senior technical personnel.
  • Organize and evaluate test and experimental data to identify cause-and-effect relationships and recommend resolutions or process improvements.
  • Implement practical solutions that improve engineering and technical processes.


Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Education: Associate's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant technical experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge and proficiency with related engineering tools, test equipment, and technical equipment.
  • Ability to fabricate simple hardware as required.
  • Working knowledge of computers and electronic/electro-mechanical test equipment.
  • Ability to construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, repair, and maintain technical equipment and systems.
  • Certifications: May require a 1st Class FCC License and Solder Repair certification
