About the Organization

Now is a great time to join Redhorse Corporation. We are a solution-driven company delivering data insights and technology solutions to customers with missions critical to U.S. national interests. We’re looking for thoughtful, skilled professionals who thrive as trusted partners building technology-agnostic solutions and want to apply their talents supporting customers with difficult and important mission sets.

About the Role

Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the development of enterprise-scale database projects and manage the technical talent behind them. In this role, you will be the bridge between strategic mission goals and technical execution, overseeing everything from high-level architectural design to staff budgeting and resource allocation. Your leadership will ensure that our government partners have the robust, scalable, and efficient data structures needed to drive the next generation of AI-enabled decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end development and execution of complex database projects.

  • Lead the planning and budgeting of staff and database resources to ensure project milestones are met.

  • Monitor project progress and reallocate technical resources as necessary to maximize benefits and efficiency.

  • Provide daily supervision, mentorship, and technical direction to support staff and engineering teams.

  • Develop and deliver high-level presentations on DBMS concepts and architectural strategies to diverse stakeholders.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of relational database environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Analyze existing data architectures and identify opportunities for modernization and integration.

  • Ensure all database projects adhere to strict security, compliance, and government data standards.

  • Serve as a primary technical advisor on the selection and utilization of database technologies and tools.

Required Experience/Clearance

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and database management.

  • Extensive knowledge of relational database environments (RDBMS) and data modeling.

  • Proven experience in managing technical teams and supervising support staff on large-scale projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and reallocate resources in a dynamic environment.

Desired Experience

We encourage all candidates who meet the basic requirements to apply, even if you do not have any of the following experience:

  • Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.

  • Familiarity with big data processing frameworks like Apache Spark.

  • Knowledge of cloud-native database architectures within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Experience using GitLab for version control and Jira for project management.

  • Professional certifications in Data Architecture or specific DBMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, AWS Certified Data Engineer).

  • Familiarity with Data Lakehouse or Data Mesh architectural concepts.

$140,000 - $160,000 a year
