Position Description

ThinkTek is seeking a Senior Wireless Network Engineer to join our team in Washington, VA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and supporting wireless network solutions for federal government clients.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure wireless network architectures for federal government clients
• Manage and optimize wireless network performance and availability
• Conduct site surveys and network assessments
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate wireless solutions with overall IT infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with federal security standards and regulations
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in wireless network design and implementation
• Expert knowledge of wireless standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax)
• Experience with network security protocols and encryption
• Strong understanding of federal network security requirements
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Effective communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in related field
• Certifications: CWNA, CWNP, CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
• Experience with cloud-based wireless solutions
• Knowledge of emerging wireless technologies (5G, Wi-Fi 6E)

Clearance Requirement:

Active Secret clearance required. Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance desired.
