Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Security Engineer IV to support a U.S. Navy program in San Diego, CA. The team is seeking an experienced network engineer to design, implement, and test network devices and services at the physical and IP packet levels for the division. Details below:

Location: San Diego, CA (100% onsite)

Responsibilities of the Network Systems Engineer:
· Provide engineering and operational support for RDT&E/SRDT&E network infrastructure, including installations, upgrades, STIG compliance, and performance optimization.
· Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network performance using tools such as inMON Traffic Sentinel and Zabbix.
· Design and maintain secure connectivity between enterprise and multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
· Configure and support VPCs, VLANs, routing, virtual gateways, and network peering solutions.
· Monitor and resolve cloud connectivity, bandwidth, and latency issues in collaboration with cloud engineering teams.
· Develop and execute network testing plans, validate performance, and document results.
· Track, manage, and resolve network issues through corrective action and regression testing processes.
· Deploy and maintain routing, switching, firewall, and boundary protection solutions using HPE Aruba and Palo Alto technologies.
· Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and secure VPN technologies (IPsec).
· Implement and manage network security controls, including Aruba ClearPass, 802.1X authentication, and Zero Trust architectures.
· Install and maintain enterprise wireless infrastructure supporting indoor and outdoor network coverage.

Qualifications of the Network Systems Engineer:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5-8+ years of related experience
- IAT II certifications (one of the following): CySA+, Security+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP
- Cisco Certifications (one of the following): CCNA, CCNP, CCDP
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting network infrastructure layers 1-3 (routing protocols, VLANs, VPC)
- Proficient with Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, preferably Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager
- Experience implementing Zerto-Trust network architectures
- Ability to provide on call support if needed
Compensation of the Network Systems Engineer:
- Total compensation based on experience level - $140,000-$170,000 **based on experience level**
