As a Software Engineer (Infrastructure) on the SovOps team, you are at the forefront of an engineering-driven transformation. You will build and secure sovereign cloud platforms, ensuring system reliability and effective operations within high-stakes, secure environments. Utilizing experience with large-scale distributed systems, you will drive insights and integrate new technology to improve the reliability, efficiency, and simplicity of the operational stack, eliminate systemic toil, and enforce long-term architectural excellence.

US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with current polygraph.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience working with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design.
- 1 year of experience using Go (Golang) as a programming language for systems or application development.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities
- Engage in and improve the entire lifecycle of Google Public Sector air-gapped services, from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Support services before they go live via system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
- Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
- Scale systems sustainably through automation, and push and contribute to architectural changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
