Job Description

Duties

  • You will assist the Nuclear Material Manager in analyzing and reporting assessments of all nuclear material functions, major issues, and program goals and objectives.
  • You will plan the work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • You will develop performance standards to evaluate the work performance of subordinates.
  • You will identify developmental and training needs of employees and provide or arrange needed development and training.
  • You will direct and coordinate special studies and investigations on nuclear material management functions to identify causes for declining performance trends and areas for continuous improvement.
  • You will create and develop methodology to process material requirements, receipts, issues, storage and disposition for unused material.
  • You will confur with representatives of other organizations within and outside the shipyard on material acquisition and handling issues, project workload and schedules.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting studies or assessments of management operations to identify performance problems and make recommendations for improvement.
