Job Description

Duties

  • Lead the development of the Army's strategic position at the Aerospace and Flight Test Radio Coordinating Council (AFTRCC) and Range Commanders Council (RCC)/Frequency Management Group (FMG) forums to secure military electromagnetic spectrum access.
  • Review technical and operational data contained in proposals submitted by DoD and non-DoD Government agencies for use of frequencies within the assigned geographic Area of Responsibility (AOR) to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform frequency engineering duties in accordance with established technical standards, principles, and procedures to optimize electromagnetic spectrum efficiency.
  • Serve as the Area Frequency Coordinator (AFC) Team Leader and execute all operational functions of the AFC in the Coordinator's absence to ensure uninterrupted operations.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
  • In support of contingency operations, incumbent may be required to work overtime and shift work on short notice to include nights, holidays and weekends.

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by:

1. Developing radio frequency applications for use of the electromagnetic spectrum to secure necessary operational authorizations;
2. Recommending spectrum management methods to optimize resource utilization across multi-domain communication networks; and
3. Providing technical solutions for complex telecommunication issues and executing corrective maintenance actions to ensure continuous mission readiness.

Education
