The Screen-out Element for this position is: You must have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Troubleshoot, repair or replace components such as gears, governors for controlling, hydraulic, air and pneumatic systems and controls, disassemble, reassemble, overhaul and adjust to specifications for proper operations. 2) Knowledge of maintaining, servicing, repairing and troubleshooting complex generation systems by working from schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and maps of base electrical distribution system. 3) Must be able to read and use technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams, schematics and blueprints covering the complete assembly, troubleshooting and layout of power generating systems. 4) Test equipment for proper operation, safety and accuracy; 5) Must be able to use a wide range of complex troubleshooting and testing equipment for mechanical and electrical systems. (e.g. voltage meter, amp meter, etc.)

A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position.
- You will troubleshoot, maintain, overhaul rebuild and make comparable major repairs to highly complex powered support systems.
- You will perform a full range of work involving in the repair on engines, generators, alternators, compressors, gear-trains, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components.
- You will test equipment for proper operation, safety and accuracy.
- You will diagnosis and locate malfunctions and replace related equipment such as sensors, batteries, gauges, contactors, relays, lubricants and coolants
- You will work assignments involving the use of analytical knowledge and abilities to make decisions regarding the methods and procedures for completing complex assignments, which may involve extending the use of conventional tools and equipment.
- You will be responsible for selecting proper tools, devices, and equipment; complying with appropriate specifications that clearances, fittings, adjustments and settings are precisely and instructions in manuals, regulations and guides.

- Work is subject to constant industrial noise and in some cases excessive noise that may require the wearing of earplugs and/or earmuffs
