SME - Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester

GovCIO is currently hiring for a SME - Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester to develop and run manual and automated test scripts and ensure application development meets customer acceptance criteria. This position will support the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). This position will be located in Quantico, VA and will be a hybrid position within the United States.

Responsibilities

Conducts evaluation of software/systems activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation. Defines appropriate measures to ensure product quality. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software/system quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts. Reviews software/systems design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Provides or directs verification and validation of software system requirements, traceability, and testability.

• Develops, publishes, and implements test plans for complex, multi-tier, distributed, applications throughout the full lifecycle.
• Develops automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts and data set.
• Participates in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing.
• Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers and/or engineers to ensure the software or hardware development process has an appropriate level of testing.
• Develops response strategies and processes for high-criticality and security vulnerability related bug notifications.
• Pro-actively investigates and finds potential security holes and attack vectors within both the existing and newly-developed code base.

Qualifications

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

• Clearance Required: TS/SCI
• Expertise in testing web-based applications.
• Experience working with requirements analysts in building requirements.
• Experience writing test cases.
• Expert knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with integration and regression testing.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of SQL script.
• Familiarity with Oracle developer tools for validation.
• Cloud testing experience.
• Experience with Telerik test studio.
• Experience working on a data migration application upgrade project.
