Major Duties and Responsibilities


Operates, maintains and repairs boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, water heaters, air handling and air conditioning units under the technical guidance of the American HVAC Shop Foreman.


Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Operates, maintains and repairs large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers; heating boilers, humidifying steam boilers; ultrasonic humidifiers and associated pure water supply systems, heat exchangers for snow melting, main hot water systems, domestic water storage tanks and the swimming pool; water heaters; air handling and air conditioning units, split systems, air filters, and air distribution systems.


BASIC DUTIES


Responsible for the management, administration, and coordination of all assigned activities at the


Spaso House. All duties are performed in the home/place of business of the US Ambassador


official residence.

Reports to: Chief of Mission (COM), or designee

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


(Include but are not limited to)


  • Manage and coordinate all assigned activities at the COM’s Official Residence, including planning official representational events, managing the residence calendar, and determining staffing requirements necessary to support daily operations and special events.

  • Independently coordinate all logistical and hospitality arrangements for official functions, ensuring events are executed professionally and with exceptional attention to detail. Refer only emergency or highly sensitive matters to the COM.

  • Provide a hospitality-focused environment for distinguished guests, diplomatic visitors, senior government officials, and VIPs by ensuring exceptional customer service, presentation, and discretion.

  • Supervise permanent residence staff and temporary personnel supporting official functions, providing leadership, training, scheduling, and performance oversight.

  • Maintain the residence to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, presentation, and hygiene, ensuring it is always prepared for official visitors and events.

  • Coordinate staff leave schedules in consultation with the DCM while ensuring adequate operational coverage.

  • Manage the DCM’s personal household budget, including tracking personal meal expenses and preparing monthly financial summaries.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records for official representational expenses, prepare annual budget projections, and complete all required financial documentation and vouchers.

  • Oversee the organization, maintenance, and operational readiness of the residence, coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance with Embassy personnel.

  • Coordinate all arrangements for official residence guests, including accommodations, transportation, scheduling, and special requests while ensuring a seamless guest experience.

  • Anticipate operational needs and proactively resolve issues to ensure successful execution of official functions and daily residence operations.

  • Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support official diplomatic events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Mission or Deputy Chief of Mission.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • University or college coursework preferred.

  • Knowledge of sanitary standards and residential health and safety requirements.

  • Russian language proficiency at the 3/3 level (speaking and reading) is required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.



Highly Desired Qualifications


  • Previous experience in hospitality management, luxury hotel operations, executive residences, embassy residences, fine dining, event management, guest services, or VIP customer service.

  • Experience planning and coordinating formal receptions, executive events, diplomatic functions, or high-profile social engagements.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion in executive or diplomatic environments.

  • Experience supervising hospitality or household staff, coordinating vendors, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational, budgeting, and event coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail.
