What You'll Be Doing:
- Must have a good knowledge of the general housekeeping, maintenance and preservation processes used to service ships and service craft.
- Must be capable of determining resource requirements, resolving technical problems and coordinating tasks with other trade groups.
- Establish the QA process needed to assess the overall quality of work.
- Recommend changes to work plans, methods and resources in order to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Remediation of shipboard hulls and exterior surfaces.
- Maintaining government furnished equipment.
- Completing all assignments in a safe and timely manner.
- Remediation of internal spaces including tanks and voids.
- Shall complete the required performance reports on all assigned employees and provide performance feedback.
- Ensure discipline is fairly and consistently administered in accordance with company policies.
- Mooring of craft and vessels.
- Monitor upkeep of portable sanitary facilities and designated smoking areas.
- Assist with planning and closely supervise the movement of all ships not under command (dead ships).
- Focus on safety. Provide a work environment that reduces to zero the number of lost workdays, injuries and accidents.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum:
- Minimum: 5 years of ship, shipyard or maritime related experience and 3 years supervisory experience or appropriate military experience. Must have a valid state driver's license and be qualified to operate government/company vehicles in accordance with the Corporate Vehicle Safety Manual.
- General computer skills and Microsoft Office program skills
- Must have a valid Driver's License
Security Clearance:
- Position requires ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
- Must be a US Citizen per INACTSHIPOFF Instruction 5500.3
