Job Description



The candidate shall work alongside and in cooperation with the Peraton staff assigned to the Combat Simulation Systems Development (CSSD) contract. The candidate(s) will take general direction from the Peraton Systems Engineering Lead as they deem necessary to fulfill the requirements of the prime contract and the objectives of the assigned projects. All work effort shall conform to the applicable performance work objectives as defined below.

CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES


Ability to perform the following, with some supervision:


Conduct software developmental testing to demonstrate the correctness and completeness of the software design for Simulation Systems such as the Common Connectivity Device (CCD), Next Generation Simulation (NGS), Universal Message Generator, and Combat System Simulation/Stimulation (CS3)


Develop integration test plans and procedures for testing Simulation Systems


Conduct integration testing and analysis of new Simulation System capabilities and components to ensure all software components work in the target system and verify that the software meets the system requirements at Government approved site


Submit detailed test results to the customer in the form of a post-event report


Develop simulation scenarios to test functionality and ensure repeatability for Government identified use cases


Develop test plans and procedures for testing Simulation Systems such as the Common Connectivity Device (CCD), Next Generation Simulation (NGS), Universal Message Generator, and Combat System Simulation/Stimulation (CS3)


Perform verification, validation and operational testing of simulation systems with a team independent of the system designers and developers


Collect and manage simulation systems test data and perform data analysis to be documented in Test Reports.


Deliver the verification and validation test plan, test procedures, test artifacts and test reports as defined above to the Government to support Accreditation activities


Perform computer program maintenance for Simulation Systems


Analyze computer program defects called Test Observation Reports (TORs) and provide status to Configuration Review Board (CRB).

SKILLS & ABILITIES


Has basic knowledge of:


Common terminology within the scope of the program. This includes accurately utilizing terminology while communicating verbally or written.


Test and Evaluation Methodologies


Technical Writing


Troubleshooting


Standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point)


Data collection and plan development, to support analysis objectives. This includes the development of data logs, matrix's and tables to support in assessing the effort.


Possesses solid writing skills and the ability to develop mid-level informational briefs, point papers and monthly status reports


Military experience is not required but is highly desirable.


Experience in at least two of the following areas is required:


Direct US Navy experience with Aegis Combat System in an operations role


Enlisted Surface Warfare certification (ESW pin)


Master Level course work in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems


Defining large scale Modeling, Simulation, and/or Tactical Communications test bed applications


Operation of Naval Combat Systems


Testing elements of the Navy Surface Platform combat systems

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS


GED and/or equivalent years of experience

PAY RANGE


$100,000.00 to $125,000.00 annually, DOE

U.S. Citizenship is Required

SECURITY CLEARANCE


Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
