Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Integration and Test Engineer specializing in testing spaceflight hardware systems and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (eGSE). As a crucial member of the engineering team, you will lead the integration and testing efforts for our cutting-edge spaceflight systems, ensuring their functionality, reliability, and performance in the most challenging environments.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, systems engineering, and manufacturing, to develop and validate innovative technologies that enable the success of our space missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Integration:

    • Lead the integration of complex spaceflight hardware systems, subsystems, and components, ensuring compliance with interfaces, design specifications, and requirements.
    • Define and execute detailed integration plans and processes to ensure seamless assembly and operation of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
  • Test Planning and Execution:

    • Develop comprehensive test plans, scripts, procedures, and verification strategies for spaceflight hardware and eGSE across various stages of the product lifecycle.
    • Conduct and oversee environmental tests, functional tests, acceptance tests, qualification tests, and performance evaluations in accordance with industry standards.
    • Lead fault isolation and troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve complex system-level issues.
  • Electrical Ground Support Equipment (eGSE):

    • Specify, design, and validate eGSE required for the integration and testing of spaceflight hardware, including power systems, communication interfaces, and automated test systems.
    • Ensure hardware and software elements of eGSE meet mission requirements and provide reliable support for ground and flight testing.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze test results, generate detailed technical reports, and provide feedback to engineering and design teams for iterative improvements.
    • Present findings and recommendations effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and leadership.
  • Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure all testing and integration activities comply with industry regulations, standards (e.g., NASA, ESA, and other relevant agencies), and company processes.
    • Maintain meticulous documentation of system design, integration processes, test procedures, test data, and reports.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:

    • Engage Program Management, other functional engineers, and technicians in integration and testing activities.
    • Collaborate across engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, rigor, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in system-level integration, testing, and verification of spaceflight hardware or other complex aerospace systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of space hardware systems, including propulsion, avionics, structures, power systems, and thermal control.
  • Proficiency in developing, validating, and operating Electrical Ground Support Equipment (eGSE), including hardware/software integration.
  • Strong understanding of environmental testing standards and processes, including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, and acoustic testing.
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for spaceflight systems (e.g., NASA, ESA, ISO, MIL-STD).
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools, data acquisition systems, and analytical software (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python).
  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance
