Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements for a new IT system, producing detailed elicitation summaries, use cases, and user stories that capture business needs, user perspectives, and system requirements.
  • Develop clear, structured requirements specifications using tools such as Jira, Confluence, including prioritized lists of requirements, glossaries of terms, and acceptance criteria to ensure all aspects of the system (e.g., features, performance, usability) are fully defined.
  • Create and maintain requirements traceability matrices linking business objectives to functional specifications, design elements, and test cases; include visual models such as data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, or process flows to illustrate system behaviors and requirements.
  • Perform thorough gap analyses between current system states (including external interfaces and dependencies) and desired requirements, delivering reports with identified discrepancies, risks, and recommendations for resolution, validated through peer reviews and stakeholder sign-offs.
  • Facilitate requirements walkthroughs and reviews with cross-functional teams, producing verification checklists, change impact assessments, and updated documentation to confirm completeness, consistency, feasibility, and alignment with standards.
  • Generate accessible deliverables such as requirement prototypes (e.g., wireframes or mockups), presentation decks, and feedback reports to communicate requirements effectively to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring mutual understanding and buy-in.
  • Track and document requirements changes throughout the project lifecycle, including version-controlled updates, rationale for modifications, and impact analyses on external dependencies, interfaces, or overall system scope.
  • Provide requirements-based test case outlines and scenarios to support QA teams, including boundary conditions, error handling, and integration points with external systems, contributing to defect prevention and requirements coverage metrics.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline.
  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
  • Ability to fully coordinate master project schedules.
  • Ability to coordinate information flow between all programs and organizational managers.
  • Ability to establish functional and technical specifications and standards, solve hardware and software interface problems, define input/output parameters, and ensure integration of the entire system or subsystem.
  • Provide a total systems perspective including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components.
  • Draft and/or perform the vetting process for new requirements, ensuring all information needed to complete each requirement is provided.
  • Oversee the requirements tracking process.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for customer needs
  • Work with customers, service provides, or developers to identify requirements.
  • Working knowledge of information systems and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.

  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Equal Pay Act

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, Arcfield invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
