Job Description
ClearanceJobs is actively seeking a Senior Technical Account Manager – Data Security for our client located in Fort Meade, MD. ClearanceJobs is the largest career network for professionals with federal government security clearances, connecting cleared talent with the opportunities that matter most. We are committed to matching top-tier candidates with clients who depend on mission-focused professionals to support national security, defense, and intelligence community initiatives. Our team works closely with hiring managers to understand their needs and deliver candidates who are not only technically qualified but cleared and ready to contribute from day one.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Serve as the primary technical owner for an already-deployed data classification and data security platform operating across a large-scale intelligence community environment
Guide and support ongoing cloud migration and upgrade efforts for the existing deployment within a highly regulated, classified setting
Partner directly with customer development teams operating in a Microsoft-centric environment, including virtual desktop infrastructure, to ensure alignment and technical continuity
Maintain visibility into developer activity and technical direction without formal management authority, flagging risks and opportunities proactively
Advise on identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) and zero trust architecture considerations as they relate to the deployed platform
Act as a trusted technical advisor to the customer, translating field realities and operational constraints back to internal product and engineering teams
Support technical conversations tied to platform expansion and continued adoption that require cleared, on-site access
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Technical Consulting, Technical Account Management, or Systems Engineering, including time in classified environments
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem and virtual desktop infrastructure
Experience supporting data classification, data security, or information protection technologies
Prior hands-on programming or software development background sufficient to communicate credibly with developers on technical matters
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work on-site in a classified facility and adhere to strict operational security requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with ICAM concepts and implementations
Exposure to zero trust architecture principles
Experience supporting cloud migration efforts (Microsoft Azure / M365 preferred)
Prior experience working directly with cleared government customers without an intermediary partner layer
A bright, engaging communication style — this person will be the face of the platform to a technical customer audience
Clearance Requirements:
Active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph is required and must be current at time of start — this is a hard gate given the classified nature of the engagement
Location:
Fort Meade, MD
On-site expected at the outset of the engagement; some flexibility toward a hybrid schedule may develop over time, though this is not yet confirmed
Standard schedule anticipated around 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, operate standard office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, and telephone, and occasionally move about the work environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
