Job Description

Responsibilities

Design electrical control cabinets, junction boxes, and power distribution panels.
Develop wiring diagrams, schematics, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules.
Create power routing layouts for AC and DC systems.
Size and select circuit protection devices, power supplies, relays, terminal blocks, and wiring components.
Integrate electrical equipment with PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and industrial networks.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure proper cabinet layout and cable routing.
Perform electrical load calculations and verify power distribution requirements.
Develop and manage engineering documentation, BOMs, and installation work instructions.
Actively monitor assembly, system integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site commissioning.
Troubleshoot wiring, grounding, power quality, and integration issues during build and deployment.
Adhere to NEC, IPC 620, and applicable customer standards.
Support continuous improvement efforts related to electrical design standards and manufacturing efficiency

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field
5+ years of experience designing electrical cabinets or industrial control systems
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar electrical CAD tools
Experience developing wiring diagrams and power distribution schematics
Knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, VFDs, and low-voltage power systems
Familiarity with UL, NEC, NFPA, and electrical safety requirements
Travel may be required to support site installations
