- You will learn and perform the proper use of tools.
- You will read blueprint sketches and technical manuals.
- You will assemble, install, maintain, and repair piping systems of submarines.
- You will trouble shoot, repair, adjust and install tank level indicators.
- You will prepare equipment/components for subsequent installation aboard submarines.

- Ability to apply knowledge of technical practices related to piping repair and installation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and technical specifications to perform assigned work.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of equipment, components, and materials associated with pipefitting operations.
- Ability to fabricate piping system assemblies by cutting, bending, brazing, and beveling.
- Ability to prepare equipment and components for subsequent installation.
- Ability to assist journey-level pipefitters with the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
- Ability to learn the proper use of tools and shop equipment associated with the pipefitting trade.
- Ability to use a variety of pipefitting tools, including grinders, brazing torches, measuring tools, and hydraulic pipe benders under supervision.
- Ability to assist journey-level pipefitters in troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and installing tank level indicators.
