- You will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy mobile equipment.
- You will be responsible for repairing/overhauling at least one type of major system, i.e., diesel, multi-fuel, and gasoline engines, automatic/non-automatic transmissions, multi-gear assemblies, and a variety of positioning systems.
- You will be responsible for troubleshooting, tracing, and locating defects and causes of mechanical problems to determine type and extent of necessary repairs.
- You will be responsible for complying with appropriate repair specifications and procedures.
- You will be responsible for independently performing preventive maintenance and services on various complex electrical devices, equipment, and components.
- You will be responsible for guiding and training lower graded employees.
- You will be responsible for sketching, removing, identifying, manufacturing, installing, and repairing sheet metal components of motor transport equipment and a variety of heavy mobile equipment vehicles.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current equipment operator license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current refrigerant certification.
- Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
- You may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
