Virtualization Administrator
Location: Baltimore, Maryland (Onsite)
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance, SAP program
Role Overview
We are seeking a well-qualified Virtualization Administrator to join a dynamic team of technical professionals. The selected candidate will be responsible for building, architecting, and designing VMware-based virtual infrastructure for multi-user, multi-enclave networks. This role requires managing Windows Server operating systems, domain architecture, and Active Directory.
Key Responsibilities
Build, architect, and design enterprise virtualization environments using VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
Perform as a Windows Systems Administrator, managing Windows Server operating systems, domain architecture, and Active Directory.
Design and implement virtual machine provisioning, resource allocation, clustering, high availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and vMotion configurations.
Maintain smooth operation of all virtual and physical computer infrastructure.
Analyze customer requirements to determine equipment and software needs for virtualization solutions.
Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve the performance and reliability of the virtual environment.
Install, upgrade, patch, monitor, and resolve problems for ESXi hosts and vCenter.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience, or an Associate's degree and 10 years of experience. A High School diploma or equivalent with additional years of relevant experience may be considered.
IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or equivalent is required.
Demonstrated experience building, architecting, and designing VMware virtualization environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
Experience managing Windows Server OS and domain architecture.
Must be able to obtain an active DOD Secret clearance prior to start date, and SAP Access.
Preferred Qualifications
Active DOD Secret Clearance
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an IS-related field.
VMware certification (e.g., VCP-DCV, VCAP) with experience on current versions.
Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Horizon VDI, vSAN, or NSX.
Experience operating under and managing systems within specific information system environments.
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
Enterprise server management and infrastructure design experience.
Understanding of networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification.
Knowledge of Windows AD, LDAP, and SAN/NAS storage systems.
Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools (e.g., HBSS, SolarWinds, Splunk).
Scripting experience (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, or Bash) for automation and provisioning.
Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment.
Experience with the Certification & Accreditation process.
DoD 8570 Certification in a primary OS (Windows, Linux, Cisco).
