Job Description:
We are seeking an Intermediate to Senior Software Engineer to support a highly visible Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software Integrated Product Team (IPT). This team develops, enhances, and sustains critical mission software capabilities supporting national security initiatives.
The Software IPT operates across both software development and operations & maintenance efforts, delivering mission-critical solutions for a restricted SCI customer. This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced software systems in a collaborative Agile environment alongside experienced engineers and subject matter experts.
This position is 100% on-site in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) located in Redondo Beach, California.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain software applications using C++
Design, code, and unit test new software capabilities based on mathematical algorithm requirements
Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve software discrepancies and defects
Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and technical SMEs across multiple subsystems
Support software development efforts within a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment
Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, reviews, and team collaboration
Contribute to software sustainment and modernization initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5-8 years of software engineering experience
OR Master's degree and 3-6 years of experience
OR PhD and 1-4 years of experience
Additional relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Active TS/SCI clearance required
Strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) skills
Advanced proficiency in C++
Experience working in Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and teamwork skills
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DevSecOps and test automation
Experience with C, Java, Python, or Perl
Strong mathematics and algorithm development background
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Familiarity with Atlassian tools, including:
Jira
Confluence
Bitbucket
Bamboo
Experience with Git source control
Active SCI eligibility and mission-focused development experience
