Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing network security programs, 2) Developing plans to maintain network system compliance; 3) Analyzing issues and implementing upgrades, patches, and configurations; along with 4) Overseeing allocation of hardware.
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
(1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
(2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

Additional information
- Oversee DOD unclassified network security programs, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and system availability for all installation servers and workstations.
- Manage Computer Network Defense (CND) services and tools to secure network and neutralize potential system breaches.
- Develop Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Certification and Accreditation (C and A) documentation to maintain system compliance.
- Administer enterprise information systems and active directory to meet Information Assurance, operational, and user requirements.
- Analyze system issues and implement operating system upgrades, patches, and configurations to improve server and desktop security and reliability.
- Oversee physical allocation of IT hardware to maintain infrastructure life-cycle schedules and support facility operational requirements.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
- The duties of this position may require the incumbent to carry a cell phone and be on call on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.
- Position is designated Mission Essential in accordance. Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Supervisor and/or Local Command Policy.

- Selectee must meet position requirements for certification found in DoDM 8140.03(Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program)-this must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
