Job Description

Duties

  • You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling the functions of the branch by developing and enforcing DOD policies and procedures.
  • You will conduct studies which include review of mission and organizational structure, reporting requirements, procedures, as well as personnel, morale, facilities, and space requirements.
  • You will review and develop procedures to satisfy new requirements or to implement new regulations or policies emanating from higher echelons of authority or determined to be necessary locally to improve aviation logistics operations.
  • You will provide administrative guidance and advice, reassigning, personnel to compensate for changing workload, training of subordinate personnel, approving leave and overtime.
  • You will monitor matters relative to redesign, modification, installation, maintenance planning , and logistic support for the system and equipment.

Qualifications

For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing inventory management methods and techniques to analyze trends, measure efficiencies, and identify ways to improve aviation supply departmental operations to ensure readiness of aircraft and support equipment.

For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and interpreting Federal and local supply policies and procedures to provide physical and administrative assistance to maintain inventory control of materials and equipment for a materials support program.

Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-11 only:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

GS-09 only:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree;
OR
