Job Description

Scaled Composites is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Industrial Security Analyst to join the team. The Senior Principal Industrial Security Analyst is responsible for acting as the Contractor SAP Security Officer (CSSO) while providing service, direction, administration, and development of security programs and procedures for assigned programs that have contractually imposed security requirements. Their ultimate responsibility is ensuring the company and customer security requirements are met.

Summary:

Founded in 1982 by legendary aircraft designer Burt Rutan, Scaled Composites is an aerospace company continually working to push boundaries, prove out ideas, and influence the future. We are a rapid prototyping and manufacturing facility, designing, building, and testing proof-of-concept and prototype vehicles. We have flown an average of one new aircraft type per year over our 40-plus year history such as Proteus, GlobalFlyer, SpaceShipOne, Model 401, and Stratolaunch.

Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • The successful candidate will interface with all levels of Scaled personnel and government management personnel to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD Manuals, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254), and Program Classification Guides.
  • Develop and implement local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans in accordance with SAP requirements.
  • Conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies that encompass an effective corrective action plan, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements.
  • Assess the security impact of new business and provide security considerations for proposal and transition planning
  • Coordinate transportation plans, prepare classified packages for transport, and work with off-site locations to verify and catalog receipt of transported records and assets
  • Conduct program indoctrination, security education, training, and awareness
  • Works with the Security Manager to investigate security violations and prepare reports for submission to the customer
  • Create and maintain good relationships with other departments; strive for success with an eagerness to support the company, our employees, and our customers
  • Respond to alarm calls after hours in accordance with UL 2050 and ICD 705.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred OR equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Active Transferable DoD Secret Security Clearance, as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance and Special Program access.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills to facilitate good internal and external customer relations.
  • Must be adaptable and able to accommodate competing demands while prioritizing work in a dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience as a Contractor SAP Security Officer (CSSO) or Alternate CSSO.
  • Previous experience conducting self-inspections, applying Corrective Action Plans (CAP), and completing audits with an overall rating of Satisfactory, or higher.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with DISS and JADE.
  • Possess a thorough understanding and working knowledge of NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 and ICD security standards as well as OPSEC, personnel, industrial, cyber, physical, and information security principles.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Lenel or other access control systems.
  • Prior TSCO experience.
  • Certification in SAPF/SCIF construction standards (ICD 705, UL 2050, etc.).
  • Experience with COMSEC, Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) equipment, and associated keying material.
  • Experience managing facility alarm panels and intrusion detection systems.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Requires mobility and the ability to bend and reach
  • May infrequently require lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination are required; repetitive hand motion (e.g., to operate computer keyboard)
  • Vision at close distances and the ability to adjust focus for prolonged periods (i.e., computer screen)
  • Ability to remain sedentary or stationary for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to write for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in an office setting for prolonged periods of time
  • May be asked to carry up to 20 lbs. up and down a flight of stairs on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc.
  • Occasional reaching overhead and lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Ability to converse and communicate information with others
  • Occasional exposure to chemical vapors and/or fumes in low non-hazardous concentration
  • Potential to climb up and down steps on a daily basis
  • Must be able to read and understand SDS
