Silverthorne Advisory Group is seeking an Intelligent Automation Team Lead to support an exciting and growing opportunity serving Defense sector clients. This position is ideal for an experienced automation leader who enjoys solving complex enterprise automation and business process challenges while operating at the intersection of financial management, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, data integration, and emerging artificial intelligence technologies.
The successful candidate will lead a team of junior engineers supporting enterprise modernization efforts, providing technical leadership across the design, development, testing, implementation, and stabilization of automation solutions that integrate financial systems, ERP platforms, cloud data environments, analytics platforms, and reporting solutions. This role will serve as a key technical advisor, guiding automation strategy, mentoring team members, collaborating with client stakeholders, and ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, and sustainable automation solutions.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in intelligent automation, software development, data integration, and cloud technologies, with demonstrated experience leading automation teams and delivering enterprise transformation initiatives. Experience with RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Automate, combined with knowledge of enterprise financial systems and federal environments, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of intelligent automation solutions that optimize financial and operational processes while improving efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for automation initiatives, ensuring solutions align with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and client priorities.
- Lead automation assessments to identify high-value opportunities, evaluate process maturity, develop automation roadmaps, and prioritize initiatives that deliver measurable business value.
- Guide teams in analyzing existing workflows, redesigning business processes, and implementing optimized solutions within existing functional and IT environments.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable RPA and intelligent automation solutions using modern automation frameworks and development practices.
- Collaborate with client leadership, business stakeholders, technical teams, system owners, and program management to define requirements, manage delivery timelines, and ensure successful implementation.
- Establish automation best practices, governance standards, quality controls, and operational processes to support reliable and sustainable automation deployments.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and knowledge transfer to automation engineers and project team members.
- Review automation designs, code, testing artifacts, and technical documentation to ensure solution quality and maintainability.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities to enhance automation performance and business outcomes.
- Support risk assessments related to internal controls, business process reengineering, configuration management, compliance, and automation governance.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, automation designs, process documentation, testing strategies, implementation plans, and operational support materials.
- Coordinate with project leadership to manage delivery milestones, resource planning, client communications, and successful execution of automation initiatives.
Required Skills
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting automation solutions, enterprise applications, data integration, or software development initiatives.
- Minimum one (1) year serving as an Agile Team Lead, Scrum Lead, Technical Lead, or Automation Delivery Lead responsible for guiding teams through Agile delivery cycles.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and delivering enterprise automation solutions in an Agile delivery environment.
- Strong experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum practices, sprint planning, backlog refinement, user story development, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and iterative delivery.
- Proficiency using Jira or similar Agile project management tools to manage workflows, track development activities, document requirements, monitor progress, and support delivery transparency.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Strong technical expertise in intelligent automation, robotic process automation (RPA), software development, data integration, and cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience with RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency with programming and scripting languages such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, or other automation-focused development tools.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications, databases, APIs, reporting platforms, and cloud-based data environments.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile development practices, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and production support.
