Job Description
Position: Mid-Level or Senior-Level Ship Integration & Test (SI&T) Engineer
Status: Contingent Upon Favorable Background Check
International Systems Management Corp. (ISM) is seeking a qualified individual for a Mid-Level or Senior-Level SI&T Engineer to provide engineering support to the US Navy. The selected individual will provide subject matter expertise of US Navy combat and weapons systems and components with surface and subsurface platforms.
Mid-Level applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Math or Science Discipline with at least four (4) years of professional experience in naval or systems engineering projects. Senior-Level applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Math or Science Discipline with at least ten (10) years of professional experience in naval engineering projects with a minimum of three years in a supervisory role. An additional five years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree, or three years of relevant experience for a bachelor’s degree not in a required discipline. Additional required experience: proficiency with Microsoft Office Products; strong communication skills (oral and written); and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required experience for both levels includes the below with Senior-level requiring experience with the AEGIS Combat System:
• Executing SI&T activities of US Navy systems;
• Detailed design implementation of physical and electrical interfaces;
• Working with ship design constraints, equipment installation criteria, and platform support system requirements;
• Developing recommendations for proposed system load-out, installation, and test plans;
• Execution of waterfront ship test programs and test program completion, and;
• Life cycle management planning.
Desired experience includes:
• Advanced degree in system engineering and / or engineering management;
• Command of USN combat system requirements and specifications;
• Familiarity with naval ship construction, scheduling, and planning;
• AEGIS and Integrated Combat System (ICS) test team management and operations;
• Developing system test requirements, POA&M, and developing and managing test related technical exchanges;
• International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), releasability guidelines, and physical system security processes, and;
• Coordinating and supporting technical review of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Retrofit Change Proposals (RCPs), and Ordnance Alterations (ORDALTs).
The ideal candidate is dynamic and proactive in meeting customer needs and has the ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate activities across numerous organizations. The position will be located in Washington, DC and will require travel approximately 20% of the time. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
