Job Description

Duties

  • You will perform all facets of relational database administration to design, integrate, secure, and sustain a enterprise data management environment.
  • You will manage multiple production, staging, training, and test database instances to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
  • You will install, configure, patch, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS), maintaining compliance with all applicable security and regulatory requirements.
  • You will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive database security controls and procedures to protect enterprise data assets from unauthorized access, intrusion, and data spillage.
  • You will serve as a technical advisor to leadership, functional teams, and program managers on database performance, enhancements, automation, and troubleshooting.

  • Obtain the required credentials within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for DCWF primary role of Data Management Administrator Proficiency level Advance.
Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience administering enterprise Oracle databases and AWS cloud database environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) Relational Database Service (RDS) or Azure SQL Database.
  • Experience managing full-lifecycle enterprise database infrastructure, including installation, configuration, patch management, and strict security compliance.
  • Experience optimizing database operations through proactive performance tuning, troubleshooting, and robust backup and recovery strategies.
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise systems to ensure maximum integrity, availability, reliability, and performance of mission-critical HR data systems.
